My Sisters Keeper

Jenette and I went to see My Sisters Keeper last night. She didn't cry, I didn't stop. So we can conclude two things, it was a very good movie, and my sister somewhere along the way lost her weepy soul. That could have been ME Netter! I can't believe it...
BUT, so it's a good one. See it!

Can I have water in here? Is it free?

Sunday I went to Stampede with some of the roommates and friends they brought with them. We got there when Lost Trailers were starting, who were awesome! Then Kellie Pickler played.
Phil Vassar played last, it was a solid dance party!
Afterwards Sara, Kylie, Brea, and I went to IHOP. We saw some tour busses in the parking lot when we were leaving, so we stopped to see who it was. The first one we found out had Kellie Pickler on it, but she was "down for the night". But the other one had her band hanging out outside of it. So we made friends!

His name is Wibbles

Saturday Nette, Chris, and I went hiking on Fancy Creek trail. It was a little longer than expected, but still a nice outing...besides 1-inch flies following us around.

Later that night I hung out with Will and his friends on Ryan Bruce's (and Michael Weiser's, coincidently) porch.

I already do, like Alex Mac

Friday I went to Shannon Thomas' (and Ryan Gardner's) wedding with Ryan. There was no dancing so...that kind of blew. But the wedding was sweet and Shannon was beautiful and they were happy so good enough for me!

Are you?

"The Zookeepers Boy" by Mew is an awesome song, it's what I've been listening to a ton the last week or so. That and "Galway Girl" by Mundy.

It's actually a summer of some pretty good music. I've listened to "Baby Your My Light" by Richard Hawley off of the Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist's soundtrack about a hundred times.

You work at Kites? You sure?

What were you doing at 1 am Saturday? Because I was dancing with Syrians in the IHOP parking lot after Nette, Chris, and I got a late night snack.

Also after Chris and I frosted his tips and bleached my bangs.
Fun night, ending with watching/falling asleep to Rounders around 3 am-ish. Then bright and early at 9 am I went to a car wash for the Tap Ensemble.

Unfortunately it started raining and we had to cut it an hour short, but we made a good amount of money! Today we went to a bunch of thrift stores and got all sorts of fun things. Thank you summertime!

So we all lose

Last night Chris, Nette, Brad and I saw Year One, and while Michael Cera was as great as ever, it didn't live up to it's potential. So out of the last three movies I've seen in the theater, the winner is...Up! Congratulations Pixar.

Tigers don't live in South America. Zoology.

Chris, Nette, and I went to see Up last night. What a phenomenal movie, I must say. It's like the new Finding Nemo
in that, it's made for kids but it is definitely something at least 3 people in their 20's enjoyed, and I'm sure others would as well. So there you go, recommended.

Whatever will be will be

Not only do I love the song Que Sera Sera, but I REALLY want to go to a Hermes House Band show. Unfortunately, they have places like Mannheim and Bonn on their tour schedule. I'm not sure where Bonn is, but I'm sure I don't live on that side of the planet. But we can pretend like we're there, with a large enough monitor, good sound system, and a bunch of people crammed into an establishment somewhere!

I feel like we could be best friends, if, in some way, we aren't already.

Yeah you know

Friday we (myself, Whitney, Rachel, and Jennifer) gave a Tap-O-Gram to the new president of K-State, Kirk Schulz!
To make matters better, he tweeted (tweeted?) it! (June 12, check it out)

The The...brilliant

Would you believe it, just last night I was listening to "Rollin" (truth) and got to thinking about how silly the name Limp Bizkit is for a band. Well I just found my journalism soul mate.

And please, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah has to be the best band name I've ever heard.

Out of the Loop

So there are people who say the Holocaust never happened? Since when?? And what do they mean by "never happened"? Like, there was good reason for it, so it wasn't a big terrible thing, or in all aspect, just didn't happen? No camps, no deaths, no Nazis?

This isn't me trying to be political, this is my not ever hearing of the concept. This guy seems to think he has 5 of the Top 10 Reasons why it never happened.

I'd heard of people thinking the moon landing was a hoax but...good grief, there are like a billion book and 6x that of photos from it. I don't understand where the fake out comes in.

Nazis.

Summer of Movies

There are so many movies coming out this summer that I want to see! (Which rarely happens.)

Year One- June 19
Away We Go- June 25
My Sisters Keeper- June 26
Public Enemies- July 1
Bruno- July 10
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince- July 17

...to name a few (The titles have links to the trailers). And of course, come November:

New Moon (next in the Twilight series)-November 20

I either need to get a lot of dates lined up or I'm going to be spending a lot, even on matinees!

There's skittles in there!

Saturday Jenette, Chris, and I went to the matinee of The Hangover and MAN I really thought they could pull this off. It was funny, but just not as much as it could have been. Also, some highly unnecessary parts. But the baby wearing sunglasses almost made the whole thing way worth it. I was just hoping it'd be a Wedding Crashers instead of a Lemony Snickets.

Definitely a RedBox-er.

Now Or Never

Holy crap, if you keep up with Grey's Anatomy at all (and I'm a little questionable now, since it took me to just today to do it), I suggest you watch the season finale if you haven't yet. Some crazy crap just went down at Seattle Grace.

Free summer treats!

Tonight Sonic was giving away free Root Beer Floats. I'd been thinking about it all day, and thankfully Brad had done the same. So we went and got our free treats and headed back to my room formally known as my 4 bedroom apartment. Here we talked sports, movies, and made sweet tea.

Marley and Me

Last night Coleman came over and we watched Marley and Me. It was like the adult version of Homeward Bound, soo sad. So in turn, I cried a big girl size more at this.

After it was over and Coleman left, I had a super bad headache and for some reason started throwing up. I've decided never to watch it again. It's not really fair for me to say that, because it was a good movie but...I think it could be bad for my health more than once.

She's a survivor, totally qualified

So we have a new lady on the Supreme Court, Sonia Sotomayor. I was a little disappointed that the article I read is written in a poor order that tells the less important reasons Obama would appoint someone to the supreme court first:

Since David Souter announced his retirement from the Court, Sotomayor has been regarded as a front runner for many reasons; she has solid legal credentials, the real-world experience Obama sought in a nominee, and a compelling story as a girl who rose from poverty in the projects of the South Bronx.

It later goes on to say that she has experience with the public and private sector, and has been a federal judge. That's all fine, but a compelling story? Obama, I like you but don't be shining out da hood in you. Not this early, friend..
