And all that Jazz

Time has really started going fast. Recently I've...
Celebrated Nicole's birthday
Gone to London's West End with Alex to see Chicago, choreographed by Anne Reinking.
Gone back into London the next day to see Stomp
Saw more of London, this was the Southern part. Probably my favorite.
Picnicked a few times with Alex since it's FINALLY been sunny and warm all at the same time!

Gone to Sheffield to see Cirque du Soleil with some of my flatmates

And finally got to see Keagan for myself! She is so cute, it's going to be a bit cute mess once we get her and Cass together, I can't WAIT!!

I think Shannon tries to hide how cute they are together.
She looks like a baby doll!

Tonight is the last Bonk at the Forum, tomorrow is my last exam, and then Alex and I leave for a tour of Scotland!

We're all fallen acorns

In non-baby news, Megan left today to go back Vancouver. Thursday we had a potluck for her going away and Coral's 20th bday. Sarah brought a Canadian treat called nanaimo bars. They were obscenely delicious.
Friday Hanna, Alex, Ryan, and I went to London (met up with Sarah and her flatmates) to the Felix Fables show at Zigfrid von Underbelly--a fly venue. The 3 other bands that played were good too, I only know that one of them was Simon Lawrence. The whole show was really good though. Afterwards we went to another pub w/ Felix and their friends, they were all pretty tight. It was a really good night, we're going to try and make it down to Brighton this Saturday to watch them play at a festival there.
Yesterday a bunch of us went to a last lunch with Megs before she went to London. It's so weird that people have begun leaving now!
Last night I couldn't sleep til 4, so I made this guy. It's not only a calendar of things I have going on for the next 5 weeks, but also a countdown! I just take down the sticky note once that day is gone. 38 days left--crazy!
I've been trying to remember the name of a movie I used to watch at Jackie's when I was little. I posted the few things I could remember about it on yahoo answers and someone the very next day got back to me with it! It's called Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland. So I've been watching it on youtube. And actually, the first nightmare I could ever remember spawned from the villan in this very film (which actually was a nightmare itself--it's not as scary anymore :)

Can I have water in here? Is it free?

Sunday I went to Stampede with some of the roommates and friends they brought with them. We got there when Lost Trailers were starting, who were awesome! Then Kellie Pickler played.
Phil Vassar played last, it was a solid dance party!
Afterwards Sara, Kylie, Brea, and I went to IHOP. We saw some tour busses in the parking lot when we were leaving, so we stopped to see who it was. The first one we found out had Kellie Pickler on it, but she was "down for the night". But the other one had her band hanging out outside of it. So we made friends!

Wait...is he...?

Geoff, Coleman, and I worked ourselves on the stairs of Old Stadium on Thursday. On the way home C Walk and I made the last minute decision to eat Jimmy Johns, and to visit SOS Records. Well, there was a suprise mini-show about to happen! So we stuck around for that.
Tyler Gregory of Tyler Gregory & The Blue Shuffle played an acoustic set, followed by Charles McVey on the piano. (Warning: If you're going to listen to ol' Chuck's music, it's a little graphic/vulgar/homosexual. If any of those make you uncomfortable, I recommend against it--I did enjoy the music though.)
Of Tyler's I particularly enjoyed "Loose Change" and "Remember What You Had Forgot". He said the latter was about Kansas, if I remember correctly. "Sir" by Charles was probably my favorite of his.

Level 7, Jump up and down

Last night I went to KC with Jon Urban and Marissa Dugan to see a show at the Beaumont. We saw the new-to-me Every Avenue,

The Maine (who I couldn't get a decent picture of), MAYDAY PARADE!!,

(Here's a very short video of "Miserable at Best")
and All Time Low.

I went into it thinking I only cared about Mayday and a little bit of the Maine, but I really wish I had gotten more stoked for all of the bands. The whole show was boss (Geoff and I are bringing boss back, btdub).

Another little perk to the night was this tiny little blonde girl tried to fight me for being pushed up against her boyfriend while dorks were hardcore dancing (to Mayday Parade. Really?) in front of me. Now, we know I'm pretty much all talk, but she didn't know that when I was yelling back in her face "Do NOT start crap with me during Mayday. Do NOT." Her boyfriend got between us, and I giggled it off. Who fights at pop punk shows? Amateurs. Oh yes, I failed to mention that a large majority of the people there were either well under 18, or their parents. And be warned, this new crop has no respect.
God bless Jon for being such a hoot.

I shall tell you an epic tale...

...of a friday evening voyage to Lawrence.
We open with this gal almost not even taking the trip until her friend Jon D. convinced her otherwise.
The evening quickly took a sharp turn as her ex-boyfriend she hadn't seen since senior year ended up going to the show with them. Very weird to meet again, they both thought, but actually quite nice to catch up after all this time.
She headed to the show with a gang of Garden friends, including Jon Urban, Jennifer Drees, and Joe Wesley. At the Granada they met up with other GCians, including (but not limited to) Jon D., Lane, Jacob, Ashley, and Bret, who she also hadn't spoken to in quite some time. The first band they watched was Rookie of the Year, with whom you can never go wrong. The set was short, but great. And they played Blue Roses :)
Next was Quietdrive, who none (of her party) had listened to, but all very much enjoyed. And last was Mest . That's right. Upontherooftops-topdownseatback-whatsthedillio-listened to everyday of freshman year-Mest. It was a phenomenal show with the crew dominating the front couple of rows dancing and singing like it was going out of style. SO freaking fun.
After the show, she went back to Jon's for a bit where she received a text from Autumn saying that their piece they had adjudicated earlier in the day was selected to be in WinterDance. This kicked her performance count up to 3 pieces in the recital, and proved to be a very exciting text indeed.
After getting directions to get home and to get around the construction on her usual exit, she commenced ta jigglin. Long driving story short, she called Josh Sauer after 25 minutes of being lost trying to get out of Lawrence. When she thought she had it, she thanked him and hung up only to realize that she did not have any where near "it". And then commenced ta cryin; because you see, friends, it was getting later and later and all she wanted to do was get home to bed. A couple wrong turns again and more crying later, she made it to I-70 West. That last piece was the trickiest to pull off.
She thought to stop and get a drink to keep her awake on the drive home. So at the Hardees rest stop our weary soldier picked up a Sierra Mist and learned from the cashier that Wade Bowen and his band were also in the neighborhood. Not wanting to miss out on a fantastic opportunity that only 2 am in a rest stop could present, she picked up the latest issue of Country Weekly (which he was featured in) and headed over to say hello to the boys. They all signed her magazine, were super friendly, and turned that ugly wee hour of the morning-wish she was home-frown upside down! See!

On the way home Chicken Fried came on the radio, and the evening would go down in books as one of the greatest evenings of her junior year in college.

So good

Life is crazy. I can't tell you everything thats been happening,
mostly because that would be the longest post.
Coleman and I went to a Kstate Texas basketball game during birthday week. We lost, but we did get Beasleys-on-a-stick!
Kerri and Erin made me a princess for my birthday, took me to eat at Willie's and fed me
cupcakes
Kerri, Logan, and I saw Roger Creager and Fat Dixie play and went two-steppin...later that night my new friend Antoine and I met up in Paxico :) That whole day was pretty great.
Miah and Lacey got married!
Went to St. Louis for the last hockey tournament and watched a Jr. Blues game.
Dr. Bosco gave me and a couple girls walking home from dance a ride, it was so cool.
Erin and I actually had fun at a house event, scavenger hunting around Manhattan.
I know, I had a hard time believing it myself.
Last night the fam, Aaron and his family, and I went to Panera because it was super rainy.
There's been a lot of new house drama, mostly in the loan department, for Chris and Nette.
But we think it's almost there.
The best part of the last two weeks? Two nights ago Anthony made me his girlfriend. Anthony...Antoine...Tony...Whatever, he's great. Aaand hella cute :)
And NOW it's spring break?! Golly times are good.

Bear hugs given here

WHAT a great evening I've had! My mommy came to town and we went to look at a couple houses with Nette and Chris (for those I never ended up telling, the big news I couldn't post about awhile back with the picture of Nette was that she got a real job here in town so they're staying!) They made an offer on this one! We'll hear more tomorrow.
One of the houses had a bear hug station :)
Tonight Shannon, Nicole, and I went to see Ludo play at the Kathouse Lounge. It's a really nice place for shows, plus the show was bomb. They played "Girls on Trampolines" for the encore, always a favorite, I was in the very front with Shannon and Nicole close behind, and I talked to these two guys, Tim and Andrew, after the show and they're really cool. Very good band!
Plus their new album comes out a day before my birthday!

So before we went to the show the whole family went to eat at Panera then we came back and were watching videos on the internet. Wanna know what we came across? My future. This is a little thing I like to call Jumpstyle and it is the coolest thing I've seen in awhile...
it gets me so pumped everytime I watch it :)
So anyway, Nicole and I started learning it, but I hope to be all about it in the next few days...

2008 is the year of Jumpstyle

My beard is massive

Last night was the first Garden City show I've been to since like Anorexic Beauty Queen last summer. It was local band Three Dollar Bill, Volia, Divide the Day, Her Candane,
and Nick's band The Answer is Never.
It was a really good show, and it's nice to get good bands in again. The merch guy Kevin didn't play, he just did merch and sat there being a mormon, but he plays guitar and is really good.
After that some of the band members stayed in Stana's living room while she, Meredith, and I had a slumber party in her room! We passed notes under the door for hours,
until we decided to come out and antique the ones that were sleeping.
(No one got hurt, so don't get sad)
**Oh, and I meant to say that tonight they played in Denver at Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom...where we saw Jupiter Sunrise last year!**
