22s son!

I turned 22 this last Saturday! Here's how birthday week went:

Monday: As you may recall, class got canceled due to less than an inch of snow.
Tuesday: I was working out and Friends came on.
Wednesday: Went bowling with Hanna, Nicole, Sarah, and her flatmates. (I got second in our lane both games :)
Thursday: Not much
Friday: Went to St. Albans all by myself to do a little shopping, it's a nice way to center myself. And to get sweet birthday deals at H&M <3

Saturday the girls met me outside my flat and Nicole gave me gifts of a blueberry cupcake and a housecoat! (I'd been wanting one since I got here)

We then went to see Stonehenge:
And then to the city of Bath. Such a gorgeous city!

It's where the Roman Baths are housed. That water has never been changed...

We also listened to the choir sing in the Bath Abbey, it was really awesome. (This was part of the architecture on the outside of the church, the angels were climbing up a ladder that lead to heaven)
And then. Then it was time to get down for the double deuce. Yeah Birthdays!! Aww friends :)

Dance duel for love

We went out to Bonk last night at the Forum (that's when they play music from the Top 40), kind of a big night there. A girl in line sold me her spare ticket for 3.60 rather than me paying 5 pounds, I'll take it! I mean, I took it!

We went again with Hanna and Sarah and her flatmates, plus Dan and Tim (I hope by now you've defaulted to "we" meaning "Nicole and I"). And we met up with Alex, Megan, and Coral! Plus the trivia team, gosh darn it I love the friends I've met this far :) Just LOOK at Sarah dance!
They had a fire alarm around 1:30 am, so we all had to go outside without our coats! Ahh it was freeeezing. The boys made a wall around us though, bless their hearts. x

To see all the photos from Bonk night, follow this link.

I also got a hair cut today, drastically shorter, but still not that short. HUGE pile of hair on the ground though. I don't get how all this is still left!

Are you interested?....In the SuperBowl

Best unintentional-almost-pickup-line I've ever heard from a Norwegian. Erik sure knows how to passively work the ladiezz.

Saturday afternoon I got to Skype during Nette and Nicole's baby shower at Irene's :) I'm glad I atleast got to be a bit of there.

Saturday night Nic, Hannah, Sara, and I went out to the forum with three of Sara's flatmates. And Simon, my flatmate, found us! (The one on the far right) Doesn't he look like Rod Flanders?? I would say he looks it more once you since him IRL, but when he talks he sounds like Ron Weasley! What a celeb.
Baio from Vampire Weekend was DJing...I didn't hear any Vampire Weekend songs but I guess it was still pretty cool. That night was alot of fun and a LOT of dancing, which gets a definite two thumbs up from this gal.

And then there was Sunday night. Ooooh Super Bowl Sunday night. After trivia, of course, we had to re-enter the Elehouse in order to pay the cover. Virage really took one for the team and saved us great seats and we watched the Saints do what a large portion of NFL plans were hoping they would. That game was seriously good for the soul. WHO DAT!

It was so much fun watching the game there, everyone got really into it. All of us in our group were going for the Saints, so you can imagine. But the real treat was the in between coverage of Cecil Martin's face and some british guy talking very broadly and vaguely about the game. Oh Cecil, as if the Super Bowl wasn't already special enough :)

This afternoon I got into my cupboard and my flatmate Meera had left me some cookies called Jaffa Cakes. VERY sweet gesture...but they aren't very good :S It's ok, she said it herself. Apparently it was one of those nostalgia things that gets ruined when you grow up and realize that bubblegum ice cream is awful. But gosh darnit that was nice of her!

For my Conditioning practical(lab) we basically had PE. Stood in lines and two or five at a time did lunges across a gym, grapevines and what have you.

Nic and I ate dinner with Dan, Virage, Tim, and Bo tonight then I came home to do laundry. And by do laundry, I mean get it (my clothes AND all my sheets) into the dryer and have to wait til morning because the place closes at 10 for the night. O.M.G. I should really just get more sleep, I feel that would solve many problems.

The Ocho Cero

I feel like I cheated y'all out on my last trip from summer. After Texas I went to Longmont (later joined by Chris and Nette--a nice surprise for everyone) for my Grandpa's birthday. Do you see this man smiling? He doesn't DO that. Except for, of course, when we throw 72 balloons over a loft ledge onto to the floor below. He likes that :)
Basically too great NOT to share. This is Uncle Randy in his jammies that Grandma and Grandpa got him on some trip. And he wore those puppies like they were going out of style...well...

We do, don't we cousins? ...We really do...

Friday Coleman and I had Coleman and Michelle's Summer Block Party!

I will say that football players were in attendance, and it was a summer-y good time

Chalk another one up for President C.J. Younger and one Miss B.A.M.D., party throwing extraordinaires!

The majestic polar bear

Yesterday was a great summer day. Kerri and I went to breakfast at Early Edition to start it off.

Then I had work. But THEN I had the greatest idea I've had all summer. We made ourselves a swing at the neighbors!
Dave Hale's twin Dan came to visit from Tennessee. He's way more quiet than our own Dave.
We also side-walk chalked, because what is a summer party without it? Brad Gober (Theresa's son) and his roommate Drew came over and helped out. As you can read, we don't like the lakers.
It was a really fun night...All the neighbors will be graduating this weekend. I am going to miss those boys...
<3 Rick, Evan (who's moving to GC!), Dave, and Jason.

Kick it off--Pomp and Cataclysm

Saturday night we kept on kicking off summer with a party at Moro Lounge--courtesy of Ranger and his roommates. The theme was post-apocalyptic, and that apparently sparked the Spartan in Coleman.

We hooked Sara and Scott up too, and it's been magic ever since :) For pretty much everyone involved.

Birthday Weekend pt. 2: Hockey!

We had playoffs this weekend, so we left early Saturday morning at 6. It would have been 5:15 if it weren't for another birthday weekend miracle: Western Illinois forfeited both of our last games of the season against each other, so we won that one and didn't have to be to St.L til 2. However, it was supposed to be bad weather the whole way up (and it was) so we still had to allow for time to go 45 on the interstate for a while. So we got there to play the first playoff game against Southern Illinois, and it was looking pretty good for us. They were up I think 2 on us but the boys kept their heads up and scored. So then we were tied 2-2 for a while, and we eventually ended up losing it 3-5. BUT it was really awesome to see our guys play the whole game and not get down once we started to fall behind. It was a very good game.

So once the games were over for the entire weekend at 3, it was party time! We went to a nice Italian restaurant on "The Hill" of St.L called Zia's, where I ordered and shared my first bottle of wine with one of our goalies, Nick Sterlacci. (It was a Riesling, and it wasn't very good :S ) Fun that I could do it in any case.

Sunday was going to be Geoff's birthday so while he was hanging out with his family we hopped over to the grocery store behind the hotel and got him an Andes Mint ice cream cake!

And from there on the party ensued like it really was the last weekend of the season and we had no games the next morning.
From somewhat of a dance party, singalong-ish type thing we had going, it evolved into wrestling to tap out madness. Seriously, like some of these guys were at it so long they looked like they had just got done playing a hockey game. It got pretty intense at times.
However, Scott kept his own dance party alive behind the scenes the whooole time.
Happy end of hockey/birthday Geoff! Crap, that was a fun trip. Best birthday weekend Ever!

Birthday Weekend pt. 1: Birthday Prom!

This was such a great birthday! I usually have all these expectations, then one little thing goes wrong and I'm crushed. However, everything seemed to more than fall into place for the big 2-1!
*I ditched my only lecture at 8:30 am, that ended up being canceled anyway
*Julie's baby, Jack Pentz Dunn, was born at 12:30 am (5 weeks early!) and with only a little trouble breathing, he's doing great!
*Our tap gig at the elementary school was fun
*Netter and Chris took me to a late lunch at So Long, then brought me an Oreo Blizzard..mmm...
*And then it was prom! Lots of guest appearances, including Stana Banana and her new boyfriend Hector,

Josh Sauer and Jon Urban, Adam from Kerri's hometown, Nette and Chris, Willton, one of the neighbors (Dave Hale) friends from the hockey team and their room/frat mates, girls from the dance dept and their dates, some more OG's of Garden City, kids from my japanese class, and of course the roommates! It was a great great time and even better dance party! (For the few of us that actually did--I was exhausted come 2 am). Blew my mind.
And not only did people come dressed up...
And bring dates...
But some people even came dressed up matching their dates! (Annie brought me a corsage :)

It's like the entire evening was a birthday miracle! Accompanied with the cupid shuffle :)

Bring your little hat

Pretend like these two people don't know each other and are at a social gathering.
Boy ->"Hey, do you know how much a penguin weighs?"
Girl ->"No I don't. How much?"
Boy -> "Enough to break the ice. Hi, I'm boy"

I know right? So good. You can use it if you want. I stole it from Coleman anyway. I demonstrated it to Kerri on the cashier at La Fiesta tonight :)

So Halloween! Thursday night I went to Jakeapalooza at Ranger's garage. It was a pre-Halloween/birthday party. That's Mr. Palooza himself.
Naturally some hockey folk came were part of the deal. (From top then down the pyramid we have Ranger-Sub Zero, Coleman-Pimp, Joel-Pirate Hat, Me-Tight Rope Walker, Geoff-Hendrix, Dominique (not on the team)-Forrest Gump, Will-Gangster, Nick-Casey Jones, and the incorrect date)
This was my full costume.
Real Halloween night was fair. I was tired from the night before, plus I got up early that morning to have acupuncture done. It relieves the tension but I don't know if it's as phenomenal as people say it is. However, it was Halloween so we still got down. I went to lunch with Netter and Chris then to thrift stores with Chris and got a sweet yellow coat. That night I got dressed up, went to see Brenda and Joe that came to town, then went out with the roommates. They were Fanta girls :)
And at 5:30 the next morning we left for our first St. Louis tournament...

Wino? Or drinks with a straw?

This was a weekend of birthday parties to the max!
Zoe turned 4 so to keep up with tradition we swam and then had a bbq at Grandma Stacy's.

Grandma's birthday is Wednesday, but we had a party for her today because Mommy's cousin Diana and her husband Tom, their daughter and her husband were passing through town. Marsha and Kevin came too, and all the cousins came.Tara's birthday is actually today. After lunch at the house and Grandma's party, Dan had a surprise party for her at Dean Wiley, where we ate more cake and had a cookout.
Yo.

Earl bird gets the worm

Oooooh my gosh, last week was 100% non-stop stupid busy. Luckily I made it through to see another weekend.

Here are some bullets of whats been happening...
*Starting all the way last weekend, we had a tournament in St. Louis and the team played amazing. Best I've ever seen them do, it was really exciting! Daddy also came so we got to party with him.

Ranger Matt (shown), Clavin, and I "smoked" imported cigs...those boys are pretty sweet.
*Monday Nicole and I went shopping for dresses...we both tried this one on, luckily it fit neither of us.
*Tuesday at hockey I ran into a wall trying to beat Luke and got a crazy bruise on my arm. It looks BA/pretty icky.
*Also Tuesday, Nette and Chris got a house! I haven't been out to see it yet, but once I do I'll hook y'all up.

*Wednesday Nicole, Willton, and I did Telefund...it was about as cool as you might think, but add on that I got a coupon for free chips and guacamole from Chipotle.

*Thursday my body hurt all over so I ditched Ballet in the morning.
Later we game night-ed...nothing too over the top that day.
*Friday morning at 3 am us new members in the house woke up to make breakfast for the old members...I guess it's just a thing they do here. Anyway, we were pretty grouchy about it at first, but it turned out to be pretty fun. The theme was a Sunrise in Manhattan, and we gave them picnics (they also got escorts).

*The day of Friday (after I slept for a couple more hours) was amazing if for no other reason than the week was over. I went to Panera for lunch with Anna and Amber from work who are pretty great.

*That night I went to Topeka because Jon D. and Dilly had come up to visit Lane! So naturally I had to go see them. I met up with them and some of Lane's friends and we all went out to Lawrence to meet up with some of our friends (Josh Sauer, Ryan O ((It'd been forever since that guy)), Buck ((and that guy)), Mo, and others) and we all played Rock Band and had a great time being together.

Of course Lane wasn't wearing a shirt again once the night started up...

*Later in the evening some shat went down, or almost, at the local Steak'n'Shake and some people almost got in a fight, so the cops got called and ran our id's and we all decided to just head back to Topeka. Other than that little episode the night was great, it was so fun seeing my friends and meeting Lane's, they were all pretty tight.
*Saturday I came home to meet Zach when he got in town to be my date for formal, which wasn't an ungodly amount of fun, but we all had a pretty good time together.

(Brad, Kerri's date; Ashley, a girl from the house; Zach, and me)

(Me, my hard core boyfriend beats me bruise, and Kerri "I'm hotter than Audrey Hepburn" Bates)

*Today me and the fam ate lunch at HuHot then shopped around the mall for things to put in the new house.

And now you're caught up.

Hopefully this week is a bit calmer than last week.
PLUS it's Birthday Week!!!

Get ready for it baby, Wednesday's comin up fast.
OH, and I'd like to give a shout out to Kerri's brother Jonathen, I heard he read my blog. What up lil bro.
