The majestic polar bear

Yesterday was a great summer day. Kerri and I went to breakfast at Early Edition to start it off.

Then I had work. But THEN I had the greatest idea I've had all summer. We made ourselves a swing at the neighbors!
Dave Hale's twin Dan came to visit from Tennessee. He's way more quiet than our own Dave.
We also side-walk chalked, because what is a summer party without it? Brad Gober (Theresa's son) and his roommate Drew came over and helped out. As you can read, we don't like the lakers.
It was a really fun night...All the neighbors will be graduating this weekend. I am going to miss those boys...
<3 Rick, Evan (who's moving to GC!), Dave, and Jason.

Seven Pounds

I've sort of started up a movie night at the apartment here, usually with a few hockey guys and Sara. So far our repertoire includes American History X, Fight Club, Snakes On a Plane, Shawshank Redemption, and tonight with Seven Pounds.

Good movie, kind of what I expected, but at the same time not. I enjoyed it. It was just Geoff, Sara, and me tonight. I suspect with finals creeping up on everyone who isn't already turning it in for summer, it can be a stressful and busy time.

Afterward I dropped Geoffrey off and called Brad Gober for the first time ever. We got Sonic drinks and enjoyed the GORGEOUS night at City Park on the new jungle gym--which is so sick. It was an enjoyable evening.

Definitely

I had a little going away Bbq tonight. It was pretty sweet, most of the people I will actually miss came so I got to say a bunch of goodbyes in one clean sweep.

The hard ones are going to be tomorrow...mostly Stana and Chelsey.
Aj and I don't have an emotional relationship.
We'll probably just make an inappropriate joke and go our separate ways. There are a couple others too. Crappy part is I left the majority of my packing to tomorrow,
and along with all the other crap I have to, it's going to be a busy busy day.
Hopefully I just don't have time to cry. Emo? Yes that sentence was.

Dibble Dabble

Chelsey had a pool party today! I am pooped...a little bit of running, changing into the pjs and chillin for the rest of the night sounds like a good plan.

Manhattan Summer 07

I'm home! I don't know about you guys, but I could travel all summer. So I went to Manhattan for a bout a week. We went to a Junction City Generals game, where they beat the competition something like 18-1. Let me tell you, it was a nail-biter.
(This was also the game where we first discovered the Fratellis. Sweeet deal.)
After the game they put on an awesome fireworks show.
They next day I went to a shin-dig that Smurthwaite was having for the new girls to get to know everyone. We went to Pillsbury Crossing with Smith House, played Sand volleyball, and had a jolly good time. After the festivities started to die down, I ditched the slumber party and went to hang with the homies at Daylight Donuts where Chris got this monster (it's a two-hander):
Next day we went to McAllisters, a fantastic sandwich and iced tea place...
And apparently a great place to go if you want a baby-sized baked potato.
This is us going on an adventure of sorts...
I was really all about the iced tea all week. We went to Radinas like 3 or 4 times and I got flavors of tea like Pomegranate, passion fruit, and mango. Delicious summer treats!

I keep debating whether I'm excited to move to Manhattan or not. I know I'm not excited for school to start, but that's just because I love summer so darn much!

Warped Tour '07!

We were on our way to Colorado! First stop: The Buffalo Bill statue in Oakley.
After getting a little off course in Greeley where we dropped off Jon, we made it to Longmont, watched Stomp the Yard and went straight to sleep.
Day 2 of the journey we went to Water World, aka the Happiest Place on Earth in my book. We had some A&F models behind us in line which was entertaining, and when we got home we passed out because good grief it took everything we had out of us.

The next day we went to Pearl Street with Daddy and Linda,
and didn't leave without our friends Ben or Jerry.
The next day was the big day! Warped Tour...tons of people, hot hot heat (the temp, not the band), but definitely lots of bands to make up for it. We got in the very very front front for Boys Like Girls, the only band I really cared about, but it started raining and lightning!
So we got under a bridge and waited it out.
By the time we got out, we had to be in the very back for BLG...it was sad.
But we slithered our way up to around the middle for the last couple of songs.
After their set, we went to see my friend Isaac.
He's the videographer for the band below, Family Force 5
We waited around until 7:30 to watch them play as the second to last band of the whole day. We got in the very very front front for them and actually stayed there this time, and thank goodness because they made the whole day worth it! They put on the best show I think I have ever seen, and that really isn't an exaggeration. This guy on the left doesn't even play anything, he just danced on stage the whole time! It was fab.
We caught a bus home that night, ate a ton of dinner, and once again, passed out. The next day we got lost like a bizillion times (I don't want to talk about it), picked up Jon, got lost a couple more times, then came home! It was a beautiful thing. And a very beautiful trip.

The Weekend

My very lovely weekend was kicked off by a very delicious smurf from Daylight Friday morning. I worked that day as well, but I like to not think about it.
Later in the day I was delightfully surprised when a call from Rhonda informed me that she got the new job at Catholic Social Services (we're callin it M4K...Marriage for Keeps).
Naturally we had to celebrate by going to El Con!
Our night was rocked out in Deerfield at Ciara and Brooks' new house,
followed up by Red Baron until 5 am.
Saturday was a blur of swimming at the Holiday Eeeeinn and various naps. Finally when I came to, I went to a Bbq at Josh Sauer's. True to the season's Bbq tradition, it rained, but once that was over we had a lovely meal. Megan and the kids are still in town (that's Draven in the middle of Jenn and Sarah, truly his father's son) and I am soo glad I got to play with them! Draven is way fun, and I held Avigail who makes a bunch of white noise, but still is cute.
I had a great weekend!

He's Not gay, he's Mormon!

My play date with Chris was soo fun! Here's what we did:
*Went garage saling...not too exciting
*Decided we wanted to go to the Dodge City Water Slide but couldn't figure out how to contact them to see if they were open, so we threw the idea out.
*Ate El Con with Jeremy and Sonny
*Tried to swim at their apt's swimming pool but were denied since half of us
(now joined by Brittney) aren't residents.
*So we layed out in the BBQ pit, which as far as we know, isn't reserved solely for residents.
*Worked out at the rec
*Went to the Big Pool for my first time in four years. The new slides are fast and fab!
*Freshened up, went back to the apt's and played Taboo
It was a successful day, in that I am pooped.
Three year old's birthday party tomorrow? I'm in!

**Ah yes how could I forget? My dreams last night/this morning:
-Jim from The Office flying us around camp and giving us parachuting lessons
-Me and Chris (pictured above, not my brother in law) getting married
-Regier redoing MAD! for this last spring's play, and it being more than amazing. Broke my heart a little bit...in the dream, and when I woke up. Also made me kinda sick.
But it did give me some fun ideas for MAD! v. 2**

The goin-ons

A couple things you should be aware of:
*I've restarted trying to finish the fifth Harry Potter book (Order of the Phoenix),
and slowly but surely I'm gettin 'er done
*...which leaves me nothing but super freakin excited for the movie to come out in July!
*I've started running two miles every day as opposed to the one, and it's kickin my butt
*My brothers' and sisters' friend Newgen got murried today in KC
*And I found out today that one of my good friend's got engaged a couple days ago!
(I won't say who, juuuust in case she isn't telling many people yet)
*Summer is still proving to be the best season of them all

Midwest Tour 2007

Rather than posting 18 pictures individually, heres my trip in slide show form!

I spent roughly 24+ hours in the car these last two weeks. The whole trip was sooo fun, and to top it all off I got sick the last day in Texas! So the 11 hour trip home? Yeah, not the greatest. I don't mind though, as always, the Colorado/Manhattan/and this time Texas trip
was well worth a sore throat! Summer--PHASE 1!

To see more, you can go to Shannon or Nicole's blog.
Oh, and I know it's rediculous since I've seen them more in the last two months than I probably have in the last 3 years, but I really miss my brothers and sisters now!

Turn It Up

Yesterday Pete left us. I know we're smiling on the outside,
but on the inside we were both a wreck.
On a lighter note, I just took my final final. Let the summer games begin!
(Starting with this lightning storm from last night!)

You don't NEED a Venti anything

I ate Applebees with Stana Banana and Zoe tonight. I've said it before, and I'll say it again.
I've missed you Storna.

I went outside to grab a book from my car and it smelled like cow. You know what that means? Summer. Two days and two finals left!
